Production class transmission?
« on: May 13, 2008, 02:14:13 PM »
A friend and I would like to get into LSR and had a question about transmissions.  In the rule book it says that any type of transmission can be used, however in the production rules it states that the drive train should remain the same type.  The car we are looking at using never came with a manual transmission but its sister cars did.  Can we run a manual in this class?  I read the drivetrain type must remain the same as FWD or RWD.  Am I correct in my assumption?  Thanks

If you had a transverse mounted front wheel drive car with an 4 speed automatic trans you can replace it with a 5 or even a 6 speed manual if you like as long as it stays transverse. Same goes with a standard north/south layout.

Tell us more about what you're building?

It is a RWD car that only came with an auto.  I interpt the rules as we can put a manual in its place.
