question about 3.L
« on: April 02, 2008, 05:42:38 PM »
"vehicles with long steering shafts, as used on rear engine streams and lakes, the shaft shall be collapsiable or have secondary steering shaft stop installed".

Will this apply to my 130" rear engine MS?
It says "long" but what does that mean?

it means build it so it does not have a long shaft that would impale you if it tumbled end for end.  If you feel safe, and have either put an angled u-joint or a sliding shaft in it you should be fine.  Post pictures as you build, we can help...

Hmmm. How do you know if a stream is rear engine or front engine? And where is the steering shaft?
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
