Sparky,
Everyone has an opinion on this but I ran 30 degrees on both my liners and it worked fine. Drove straight as a string.

30 degrees here Sparky too ,even with massive positive scrub it just wanted to go straight, we're changing the scrub(it felt weird in a U turn) and going to very slight positive camber just to be conformist, I'm mean that's what everyone wants right?
Few understand what I'm trying to do but they vastly outnumber those who understand why...................

I use 7 to 9 degrees on all 3 cars. I see no reason to use more than that as they go straight.

You a conformist  8-).  Hey then I might not recognize you when I get down there  :-P.  I guess I'm shooting for no camber, so I'll be the non-conformist,

Hey Tom mine has 18 degrees and so far on the build table I've had no problems either  8-).  It is still going as straight as it was a couple years ago,

Sparky,

Steering stops are required on anything over 20 degrees of caster.

Sum,

Straight is GOOD. I wish I could consistantly hit a Golf ball straight. Given the option I would choose keeping the Roadster straight and the Golf ball fadeing.

Tom

P.S. It's so nice to be back on-line!

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw in the rule book that new vehicles couldn't have over 22 degrees.   :?

We run 15 degrees on the Fairlane (IFS) and it goes fairly straight.

This is a little off subject, and will date me, but what kind of caster did they run on the old front engine short wheel base Top Fuel Dragsters?

I used to love watching them push start them from the top end then pull and push them around until lined up. The front wheels at full turn looked like they were almost flopped at a 45 degree angle.

The good old days!

Sparky, On my roadster we run 16 degres caster with just a touch of camber. Have never checked for scrub, I try to keep the roadster going straight at all times. When it does not go straight it's not the casters problem, more so tring to push a barn door through the air at 220 mph with 5"wide tires!!  You gotta love driving roadsters, nothin better. Good luck with your project.    Eric

caster creates a diagonal weight bias when the wheels are turned. if you plan to never turn the wheels it is a moot point. BUT What if you fish tail?

Diagonal weight bias????  I just barely got 'scrub radius' understood. But seriously Jack,  How much caster do YOU design/build into your cars?
