Now that is BEAUTIFULL!

Are we going to see you run naked in '08?

Wow your biggest racing fear might be getting electrocuted  8-).  That is one very nice bike  :-) !!

What all are you data logging with the DL-32??  Looks like your fuel rail is dead-headed??  Is that right??  Would there be any reason to want to change that??  It is the way my GSXR-750 is and I'm just starting to set-up the fuel system now and I'm looking at options as I'll end up with a 'busa motor in the lakester eventually.

Thanks,

Sum

I use the Innovate LM-1 (located in hump), LM-3 and XD-16 for my data capture.  I use the Dynojet LCD for fine tuning fuel trims on the fly based on logged runs.
Yes, I am a dead head, miss those guys too.  Seriously though, I dead head for many reasons, one being I'm out of room for any more regulators and pumps.

LM-1 has worked great for us in the El Camino, and will most likely purchase something that will allow bungs in all 8 tubes of the headers on the '97 Nascar Superspeedway T-Bird.

We are using a LM-1 and an aux box (LM-3) like Guy in Hooley's car and like it but the only problem is that it is limited to 5 inputs plus the air/fuel.  I have another LM-1 that i was going to use in the lakester, but I might want more inputs down the road, so I think I'm going to get the DL-32 (up to 32 inputs) from them and the LC-1 which will control a wide-band O2 and send the data to the DL-32.  You can get the combo for about $700 and it will also have an RPM converter and the following:

32 channels of data recording
5 internal channels
17 Minutes of recording per MB of SD card capacity
1-bar to 3-bar pressure sensor (MAP, Vacuum, Boost, etc.)
Thermocouple amplifier (EGT, CHT)
Duty cycle (dwell) or frequency
2-axis accelerometer (acceleration Gs, braking Gs, and cornering Gs)
Ignition timing sensor
RPM input
5V power supply for external sensors
3 solenoid/relay outputs
Expansion ports for future upgradeability
MTS compliant

It is a good deal in my opinion and you don't box yourself in with this combo like we have with the LM-1 and LM-3.

If you are interested in any of the Innovate products may I suggest getting hold of Greg at Motorsports Innovations:

Tell him you are a land speed racer.  He has been very helpful to us and is involved in John Burk's streamliner that is under-construction.

How do you guys think of these would work on my carburated Buell motor? It would be nice to see where the a/f was during a run.

It would work great.  One thing you will find that you need to know along with the a/f is at least the rpm and the throttle position.  If you data log those then when you get back to the pits you can look at the logs and see where you are in the carb circuits and then look at the a/f then and make decisions.  There will be more times that you aren't WOT than you think there are and you have to make sure you aren't too lean in those conditions also.

Just the LM-1 would do the above with the addition of an rpm converter and an under $50 tps.  I have on my site how I wired one of these with a mackintosh serial cable..........

http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/techinfo/LM-1%20TPS.htm

.......... I would get one of the GM tps's that has a lever arm on it.  Then just hook it to your carb linkage with a short piece of chain, like they use on cruise controls.  Phil went this route with the 2727 car ( http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/bville-cars-5/2727-2007.html ). The wiring diagram will still help you in this situation.  Call me if you have a problem.

You do have to buy the rpm converter for I think another $100.  It is built into the LM-3 or Dl-32 if you go that route, another reason to spend a little more up front.

The LM-3 (aux box) and DL-32 also have a pressure sensor port built in so you can read vacuum and/or boost by just hooking a line to your manifold.  If you are running boost you will also want to know the a/f at different boost levels.

Is this the one you are speaking of?

No............................... this one.....

I found it with this search " 3.8 gm tps ".  Here is a post I found on it:

Quote
Various American and Japanese cars come with TPS sensors that are activated by a little lever arm on the throttle shaft, and don't need a D-shaped throttle shaft. But I've only found one GM application that rotates the right way to mount on the rear throttle body (most rotate the other way, and force you to mount the TPS on the front throttle body, where it can bump into the thermostat housing). It's from a late '80s GM FWD car with the 3.8-liter V6 and "multi-point injection" (Buick Riviera, Olds Toranado, etc.).

I'll ask Phil what he got his off of.

I've used the ones with the "D" shaped opening that you need to mount to a shaft on Hooley's Stude and that might be a solution also depending on your linkage.

If you want photos of how I did that I'll try and find them.  I thought I had them posted, but couldn't find them.

What everyone you get you need to get the wiring harness that plugs into it.  At the junk yard get the plug and at least a few inches of wiring off of the plug.  When I had to put a new one on Hooley's stude last summer I found that I could buy a new tps for less than what the salvage yard wanted, so I just got the plug and wire there.
