El Mirage and rain
« on: January 05, 2008, 12:55:58 PM »
Just looked up weather.com and the interactive radar and the lake bed is getting some much needed as I write.  Hopefully the month of May will have a good surface to race on.

Although it has been raining pretty good in LA, El Mirage has only had 7 hundreds of an inch as of 10:17 am.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

almost an inch, better than nothing.  If you look at the weather pattern it looks like the storm will be heading through the Elmo bed all day.

Nope, nope, nope. Not 7 tenths. 7 hundredths.

0.07. Unchanged as of 8:17 p.m.

Damn, I was looking at an inter-active site on weather.com and it looked like it was raining most of the day.  Thanks for the link.  I guess I was getting over excited over moisture.

Seven hundreths will help.  And the surrounding areas send theirs down to it. too.  I hope the money we're going to spend for access is enough to hire a ranger to keep everyone from screwing it up while wet.

Now El Mirage is starting to get some rain. Hope it rains all night and they close the gates. Will find out in the morning how much. Keeping fingers crossed. LOL.

first rain in a long time - fairly slow long soaker -  not much runoff into the lake bed.  at least it's a start!  Is the 1.35 precip total shown on the website since Jan 1st?

Put the sniper up on top of the new SCTA Building with a Barrett .50 cal.

It shouldn't take too many shots for the word to get out.

Just shoot tires though.

From my "perch" in the foothills 20 miles away, El Mirage looked beautiful with water shimmering in the sunlight.  The gates were locked and hopefully it'll dry before the ATVers attack.

According to the weather site "The Lake" got a little over 1/2" of rain the last week. It could certainly use some more!
