Maxton - Wheels
« on: December 31, 2007, 04:09:49 PM »
For D or E class staying under 135 MPH can I use American Salt Flat Wheels or American Torque Thrusts ? I think they are 2 piece alum. fully welded on back side.  Are H rated tires Ok for 135 MPH ?

Thanks

Your H rated tires will be good to 175 per my 2006 rule book.
As for the wheels:
Section ll-8 WHEELS:  All nonferrous wheels on which lug nuts come in contact with the wheel must have a 1/4 inch thick plate or larger OD heavy gauge individual washers under all lug nuts.
Tires over 30" or wheels over 17" must have wheels manufactured for RACING. Wheels must attach with 5 studs having a minimum 1/2 inch studs and 1 inch hex nuts.  ***NOTE this is only a small part of what is written in the rule book.

Do your self a favor and buy some quality steel wheels.
