I have a question. I know they time you through the mile.But how do they come up with the mph. Do they use the time it took to travel the mile/? Somebody help me.

It's the elapsed time for the mile. 3600 devided by the seconds in the trap. 3600 devided by 9.0 seconds = 400.mph
