Newbie here:

I am in the process of putting together a flathead (blown) vintage Ford four banger. I have read the spec's and am conflicted as to the origin of the block. I want to order a Donovan alum. repop of the "B" engine. It has better breathing and a 5 main crank. Is this legal?

In advance, Thanks
John

I might be wrong, but I believe the block has to be pre'35 not a reproduction.  Hold on a little while and someone will know for sure and welcome to landracing.com,

John,

The rules are pretty clear.

"Flathead Vintage Four (V4F) consists if any pre-1935, originally designed and American made, flathead 4 cylinder automotive production engine, up to 220 cubic inch displacement."

No reproductions are allowed in the class.

Good luck,

Tom G.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

Vintage class = pre '35 block

Your Donovan can run heads up cubic inches.
