Should just cancel the meet and save gas money..way to windy to run...

And Elmo was blown out...congrats to the few that got to run and also got a record..I wish we could have run and tried to put one in the book however we will be more than ready for Nov...if it is rain free...

According to the SCTA website: the event is not official. no points, but 3 records will stand. Only 10 runs were made before race called because of wind.

According to Section VIII A. Meet Points d).  …any records set prior to the cancellation of the meet and certified by impound will be officially recognized, but no points will be awarded.

The record can be declined by the entrant.
This is what you get when you are running for points. For those of us that are dying to set a record, any record, you have the guys trying to win the championship 1/4 MPH at a time. The three records set just make it harder to come back next month and do it again. I'll bet all three turn the record down.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Since the meet was not official, does that mean the SDRC will forfeit its points for the November meet?

Dean, IMO if you would outlaw the use of GPS, you would not see records broken by 1/4mph all season long. It does not leave a good taste in ones mouth.

If you outlawed GPS then some smartass would put a throttle stop on it.
Pretty soon we may have a bracket racing class at the lakes.

Might take a couple of runs for the throttle stop.  DUMP the GPS....  Put it back in the drivers hands ( or foot )!!!

Cohn, Brauer and Yacoucci are taking the records. Take a guess at who is in the points chase? Is this a post for the trivia thread?

Geeez, now you tell me !
You mean I coulda used a Throttle Stop, GPS, Traction Control , Electronic Rev Limiter, a Computer Controlled Electric Fuel Injection, and even set my own minimums  ?
And to think I just depended on the tune up.
I guess I have to read the rules more carefully.

Cohn, Brauer and Yacoucci are taking the records.... that means they will go into the record books, but they get no points in the 2007 points race, right?
