IB,
discussion is how differences get settled

Don't take this personally, it is addressed to all, including the SCTA Board Lurkers...

Wanna be part of the problem or part of the solution?

Rules prposals, changes, clarifications should be submitted no later than Oct 15 to SCTA/BNI.

Maybe all this will then die down!

bystander....duuude......get real.....lack of dialogue has created the
dysfunction that prevails.......it needs NOT to die out and make for
another 2 week unraveling of existing rules creating hasty rules change
requests.....if hasty not a likeable word.....then a situation where rules change
requests created and submitted over a very short period of time (days)....either without
discussion..........OR WITHOUT ANY INPUT DESIRED.....

These posts are watched with interest from the other side of the world where SCTA rules are interpreted and used for our own DLRA SpeedWeek. I know the rule discussions help our scrutineers.

This web site is invaluable at all levels of involvement with the obsession. Now, back to that fender arguement.

Actually, the rules change process is an on-going thing. Why argue rules at the end of the season when you could submit a request for change in March and have the discussion reach a conclussion well before the cut off date in October.

I think the site has some of everything.

There are reasons why the site is invaluable in many way.

One is dicussion on issues that people usually dont have a say. They can come here and debate the rules. It's a public forum and all input should be looked at (except the bashing), lots of people have good arguments and some have good rebuttles, its just a way to bring stuff out in the open, and give solutions.

Dan,
If the rule interpretation changes in October, it causes a very small window to try to get it right for next year.  I would like to suggest that the SCTA put some information about this NEW interpretation on their website so we can all get the OFFICIAL information.
We would all appreciate knowing what is going on.
We all appreciate everything you do, see ya next year

That is a very valid point Stainless. One that I didn't understand. I know Mike Cook was present but, I neglated to get an opinion from him concerning the interpetation.

"You have to have some trust in the system to start with if you are to have any respect for it.
If the system and it's rulers are held above the wishes of the participants and no reason has been published for the changes then you have problems like today.
Whatever the objective , it has to be clearly stated or it leaves the door open to speculation that is often bolstered by facts."
