BUB highlights on SPEED Channels "Superbikes"
« on: September 27, 2007, 01:32:54 PM »
An entertaining show from the 2007 BUB event with host Jason Britton (m/c stunter extraordinaire) that had a few familiar faces in it.

Many diverse bikes were highlighted, not just the fast guys!  There is some great footage of riders fighting the salt and wind.  As a bonus, if you never saw a quality version of Ron Cook's El Mirage "Holy crap I am in a tank slapper I better jump off" crash that drags him across the lakebed, you are in luck.

Jason did a great job getting the point across that LSR is not as easy as it appears.  He stated he would, or has had no problem reaching speeds of 200 on asphalt, but actually said he was scared on a run of 129! For what it is worth, I believe that there will be more motorcyclists that appreciate what we do after viewing the program.

John,
Once again you did a fine job on camera.  I especially liked your cute "helper".

It was exciting for Jason to point out the LSR swingarm and weight package that Dave at Byke Engineering builds for our bikes.  It is his latest version that is on Leslie's bike and it works awesome.  My logo received some air time as well.

Jason,
Congrats on the performance that generated the BIG cheque!  It appears that they taped the show later in the week and missed your big runs.

As far as the weight is concerned, if I don't lay off the pizza I will be forced to have Dave build me an arm from Ti!!!

The logo placement worked well, but the primary purpose of that particular location was to hide the previous holes in the fairing.  When we installed our turbo kit the fairing fitment changed leaving an abandoned mounting hole that looked like we randomly drilled exploring for mounting locations.  The decal concealed it nicely.

After my naked bike run at BUB on the hmmm.... shall we say damp salt.

You are right Jason, not everyone needs weight.  Dave configures arms with and without weight for street/drag etc..

Dave does all the fabrication on our turbo systems and race bikes.  He is a very talented fabricator who knows motorcycles, a unique combination in my experience.

We caught the show by accident last night. It's one of my favorites in regards to bike coverage. It was quite entertaining especially with Jason the host not being able to get over 129. I also like the way they caught john's runs with the bike floating on the salt. Good footage & entertaining! I like the way they said that Leslie didn't get the record. Umm yeah! LOL Funny what they put in & leave out. We did enjoy it though! Would have been nice to see Jason M too tho.
