September Volunteers
« on: September 24, 2007, 09:06:57 AM »
It is once again my pleasure to brag on our corps of dedicated and amazing
volunteers.
We had a better than average pre-registration of workers, so we had a better
idea of who
was going to do what before we got there, and that IS a help. All-in-all, all
positions
were staffed, everyone was able to maintain a positive and helpful attitude
thruout the
meet in spite of the HOT weather, and we ran the most passes EVER with
efficiency and,
most importantly, safety.

Lots of bike inspectors turned up, which was a big help with the Super Street
Bikes
Shootout. Debbie Dross not only ran some great runs (her first meet after her
accident),
she also started training as an inspector, and it will be helpful to have one
more set of
eyes and hands to staff this position.

We had some new suckers-er-special folks step up at this meet and volunteer for
the first
time. Sam (as in Samantha) and Rob (sorry I can't recall your last names) came
to spectate
and we sucked 'em right in. They were a delight and did a great job. And Bill
(whose last
name I can remember but can't spell) thanks SO much for kicking in down at
shutdown.
Not much glory, but critical to the safe operation of the meet. Sorry I didn't
get much time
with you, but I'm sure that Joe and Ken helped you feel comfortable. And Mrs.
Art - I think
this was your first, as well, wasn't it?

I wish we had a bigger word in the English language than "THANKS", but I know of
no
better word to use. So.......BIGGEST THANKS and my gratitude to ALL who stepped
up a
and made this a fun and safe meet.

See you in October
