Just a curiosity question; can anybody explain? On Saturday (I think it was Saturday) we were driving on dry tracks as we entered the salt from the paved road. Over the next days the water level got higher generally. And those days were hot and dry. As far as I know, there was no significant rain in the area.

The prevailing wind will move the prevailing water for miles and sometimes faster than you can walk.

Wind.... The winds blows and the water laying near the mountains comes in from the north to the south,, it follows the path of a "river" and that is why water was there and not further out.,,,

On 9-27-08 we lost a great friend and fellow racer, he was the BEST, he helped anyone with anything at anytime.  His name is Dave Owen and he will be missed by all that knew him and I am glad to have met him.

Seeing him at Bonneville during 2008 Speedweek was the tops, Dave was in awe of the salt and as usual was there helping out anyone who asked..simply put we lost a great man who will be missed by all.
