Go to Landracing.com home page.  Click on Speedweek.  Read the commentary, look at the pictures, etc.

I thought Dakin had seen some new footage on this years speed week.  He mentioned the sound of breaking records.  I wanted to see what Dakin saw, I guess I got over excited.

Crappy Jim, went 168 yesterday, and today was 187 in 2 1/4 and slowed to 183 and shut it down.

handling issues, cooling issues, and the story goes on. Made some adjustments, cut some holes in lower fairing, Im getting 5" of salt, weighing over 10 lbs of salt in lower fairing, think I might be bottoming out down course. Did some suspension adjustments, cut holes in lower fairing, and first day I went length of course and cooling temps got up to 260 degrees... Ok now im not going that far down course. Some of that is due to the new nose of fairing... Going in steps, motor is still alive, making all kinds of power just need to tame the handling down... Second pass at 187 the most throttle I got it to was about 38%....

Keilani,

I appreciate your reporting on what is going on at the Salt Flats. Keep up the good work and please don't go on strike.   wink

Jon,

Sounds like you are getting on the right track to make your goal, but please remember to feed your Crew Chief. We need the updates on what is happening.  wink

Thanks to both of you for your efforts.

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.

In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230

Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

Hi Jon.

We're hoping to get out there soon. Mike's keeping an eye on conditions but I hear there are some pretty fast runs.

Did you receive the package at your hotel for Salt Talks? Sorry we couldn't make it, but hope to be out there in a couple of days!

Thank you so much Keilani and Jon. I know it is a lot of work to run around the course and gather all the info you have been reporting. Great Job. And it is so nice to get almost instantaneous results instead of having to wait days before knowing what happened. All of us who are missing Speedweek appreciate your efforts.

Thank you so much for your time to keep us informed.  It is very difficult to be here at home and wonder what is going on at Speedweek and you are helping me stay in touch.  I have been calling to check on the car frequently but often I am able to tell them about something that is news on the salt that they are not aware of and they are there.  I know how difficult it must be for you to try to keep us informed and I want you to know that I appreciate your work.

Keilani....if Jon won't feed you, we'll call the Subway or a pizza place in Wendover that delivers and keep you happy. Thanks so much for the work you are doing, really enjoy your personality in the writing. Jon is okay too. grin What kind of pizza do you like?

We "stay at homers" really appreciate these updates, it's almost like being there... sort of

I can not get the results page on the SCTA site to work.  The link for the record runs works but not the link for the daily runs.  It worked Saturday evening but now it does not.  I am anxious to find out who is making passes and what they are running.

The results information is being put together by SCTA. Apparently their interest in this results posting is as a summary after the event rather than an update. I don't think this is on the priority list, as they have many other things to do. After all... their responsibilities are to the racers at Bonneville and not those of us who couldn't make it. I am sure they would want to give an indepth reporting, but time may not allow.  You'd think that as the runs were made and listed in the timing stand, they would have software that would list it and then upload periodically...  it looks like a full time job.

Maybe when Glen gets back we can bring this up again and see what could be done.
