Fuel Lines on Sport Bike
« on: August 08, 2007, 12:06:44 AM »
Is there a requirement that is enforced to place something around the fuel lines on sport bike (relatively stock. If so what is it and where could you find it? Running in either Gas or Fuel(Gasoline brought to event)
Thanks,
Kevin

The something around the fuel line is Aeroquip fire sleeve to give the fuel line some protection in case of a fire. It is only required if you have fuel line that does not have a shut off like a fuel tank cross over.

For the rest of the fuel lines, you would be expected to close the fuel shut off so that the fire won't spread.

Test: Find the fuel shut off in the following picture.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

So I was looking through the manual and the only fuel line that I can see on the ZX14 is from the bottom of the tank - after the fuel pump up to the throttle bodies.... Now the fuel pump is shut off with the handlebar mounted shut off and the teather kill - so I am assuming this is OK. Can I get some confirmation from the experts in the crowd - Also - Flyboy did you have any fuel line wraps put on your last year -? I apprectiate the help as I would not want to show up and get turn away.... Thanks -Kevin
