Adopt a crew person in Iraq?
« on: July 09, 2007, 03:51:08 PM »
Here is an idea. Could we start a list of some people in Iraq that might be interest in LSR. Then you could send them information on your racer and keep them up to date on what is going on at Bonneville. I'm sure there are people ( notice I didn't say just guys ) that would love to feel like they are apart of something going on here in the states. What do you think?       Doug Odom in big ditch

How old would you be now if you didn't know how old you are?
If you can't race it or take it to bed - it ain't worth having.

Anyone that wants to send me an e-mail address will be put on a mailing list. I'll do a section each day and attach fotos. Jon always has info posted but if it is better for me to do an independent mailing, I will.
I'll discuss this w/Jon. Maybe I'll just link to Landracing.com or give him my contribution..
Doug, THANKS for the idea.
Now we all need to respect that request and remember those that make it possible for us to enjoy LSR.

They have e-mail available and should be able to google www.landracing.com We just need to get the word to them. I remember when I was in the Army and I would wait for Drag News to get to me usually a couple of weeks late. We were hungry for anything and it was the  only real source. Hot rod was good but always late without the overall coverage. Sure gotta love e- mail and web sites. God bless our servicemen.

If anyone is still looking for a soldier to adopt for a crew person you can find a list of military personal at
www.anysoldier.com
You will see where they are, where they came from and when they will leave Iraq.
You can ask them if they are not interested themselves there should be someone else that would be.
