Lost At El Mirage
« on: June 05, 2007, 06:27:29 PM »
No kidding. Lost for about 15 minutes in zero visibility. You try to find your way off the lake bed!

If the last three days are any indication:
Time   Temp.   Relative   Wind   Wind
                   Humidity   Direction   Speed

03 Jun 4:17 pm   96   9   WNW   19G28
04 Jun 4:17 pm   94   9   WNW   21G33
05 Jun 2:17 pm   85   23   W   24G39

That's right, 24 mph gusting to 39. I did some test runs anyway because it was a racers wind right down the course.
I think it's a secret plot by the San Diego Roadster Club to move El Mirage to San Diego. Trust me, it's on the way.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

I certainly hope the wind goes down....up here in Wrightwood... it is really blowing....looking out the back window......cannot see Elmo due to the blowing dust................hopefully better by the weekend.

SDRC is South in the natural cooling sea breezes.
The wind doesn't blow at EM, it sucks.

Mooreland was there yesterday. he said he ran Nick and Connie's bike to 200 before handing it over to them... didn't mention anything about the wind.

We got out there fashionably late and Nick and Connie were just leaving. They were smart enough to make a couple of passes before the wind took off.

Sunday could be a short day.
