A new look,I like the new areas.Just what the doctor ordered as I am going with FI on the Buell,with a turbo,and Motec from Dave.

Gary,15 months and counting.Sure won't miss the 4:00 AM calls for somebody with a sore tummy or some equally dire emergency.
Dyno room on it's way,dyno being built,we have a space at Infineon Raceway,inspectors and fire marshal are happy,the fools at the bank gave us money, and we already have work backed up without being opened. Hope to be running our own bikes by mid june to get used to the new dyno.Retirement looks to be fun.

I'm down to 403 days myself. The day after the LA Roadsters Father's Day show next year I go in, eat a piece of cake, a couple of firm handshakes - then - see ya, don't wanna be ya!!!

Dan and Jim, been at the retirement thing since July, IT IS ALL IT'S CRACKED UP TO BE!!  :wink:  But Jim, sounds like you are just changing your line of work to something you enjoy, wait, wait, that can be retirement...  :-D

Hey Guys,

Retirement is GREAT!

Remember to get a Day Planner to keep track of all the things you will be doing. I use mine a lot more than when I was working. I also seem to be getting more conflicting schedules.

I always post the racing dates and let the family know that those dates are to be scheduled around.

Friends asked what I was going to do. My answer, whatever and whenever I wanted.

The best part of retirement is the seven Saturdays a week.  Every evening I write down what I need to do the next day.  After I finish my morning coffee I look at the list (which is necessary because I have already forgotten most of it)  and I prioritize it.  Then I delete those items not associated with what I feel like doing, and the rest is enjoyable.  I must note, however, that I am single and irresponsible, and so this formula may not be suitable for all................ :wink:

Your method works for married guys also,    as long as you make out the list!

Lists are a good reference. I try to cross-off more to-do items than I add. Working on Race Cars makes that a pipe dream.

P.S.

I forgot to mention that my favorite thing about retirement is not having to fight crowds and traffic on weekends. I do all my running around and parts chasing during the week, and even then plan my trips around "rush hour(s)".

My wife recently retired and quickly learned that shopping during the week is much more pleasant.

This doesn't have much to do with fuel management. More like energy management.

If you want to accomplish anything after you retire there must be a list.
Write the list in a shorthand that noone else can decipher.

As soon as there is a list you may as well be at work.
