El Mirage pics 05/05/07
« on: May 06, 2007, 01:46:05 AM »
Here are the pics that Rchop (Randy Smith) took today while we were at El Mirage today. It was my first trip to the lake bed and I must say I have been really excited building my bike and knowing I will be able to race in the near future. Today has sent my anxious/anticipation  meter through the roof! I had a blast today and met a lot of really great people. John Noonan and his wife included in that group. ( BTW, John I found the hyperspace button!) Everybody I spoke with today was very informative and helpful. If there is a pic of you and your bike or car please speak up as I would like to try and put a few faces with a few names.

Kent, myself and Randy Nelson

Dusty on Kent's 250 this bike went 109 on Dusty's rookie pass and the record was 89.....they did a gear change and hopefully ran faster after we left.

Bob Morelands Hayabusa car made a 150 mph pass on it's first run....I think the record or minimum was 130.

Okay, I give up.  What class is that 250 running in -- the one you say went 109 on an 89 mph record?  I see only one 89 mph record in 250, and that's Dale Martin's sidecar rig.  Or -- is this one of the records that isn't shown in the rulebook?

Nice photos, though.  Oh, yeah -- Umh, unh, without getting too personal -- did John and Michelle finally tie the knot?

Sumner,

I do not mind helping you out. Can I re-size them and send them to you or give you the photo-buckett link? Or do you prefer a cd?

Scott

Please send a CD.  I'm on dial-up and it takes forever for me to see them .  Also don't re-size them as I'll do that when I crop them and save them.

Thanks,

Sum

Here is page two of the pics.

Appears to be quite a bit of lead ballast, how fast did this run?  Know any more details on it?

Thanks for all the great photos by the way, I'm definitely going to have to upgrade the camera soon.

I think he ran 60 mph I over heard him say some kind of lithium battery was being used in the bike.

Scott,

Great to meet you, the bike was an electric bike and was timed at 61mph on Saturday, I am not aware of any other runs, Michelle and I are not married....yet.
