BMW airhead MC speed question
« on: May 02, 2007, 11:56:04 PM »
I plan on attending the June meet with my '76 BMW.  I'd like to be hitting between 130 and 140mph so that when I run at Bonneville in September I can join the 130 Club.  The bike is pretty much a stock street bike save some minor hopups like electronic ignition and dual plugs.

Is there anyone here with experience in land racing old BMW airheads, or do you know of a place/individual I could be referred to who might be able to give me some advice or assistance?

Thanks very much, folks.  I've already gotten great help from racers in the short time I've been on here.  I appreciate the warm welcome.

My boss at our day job and my good friend Randy is building one as we speak. He has built quite a few BMW's in his day and is very knowledgeable. His website is www.frsengineering.com and I think a dealer in northern California does some BMW land speed stuff as well.

Good luck,
