morbike exhaust termination point
« on: March 27, 2007, 09:10:11 AM »
Still waiting for my sign up materials and Rule Book. Sorry to have to ask such a simple question but: In Modified and A Classes for motorbikes how far back and up can the exhaust terminate?

Rear edge of rear tire is the rear limit.

And -- not pointing down at the race course.  Not exhausting on the rider's foot, either.

How about superiorly/high? As in closer to area of perceived negative pressure. Sort of like where the Italians and Orientals have been dispensing their exhausts in many of their racer replicas these days.

SCTA
7.B.20 Exhaust:
All exhaust system outlets must be directed away from rider, the rear tire, and the course surface.
7.F.2 (and 7.G.2) Optional Exhaust Systems
Optional exhaust pipes may not extend behind rear edge of rear tire.
The only objection to high pipes would be safety related, not rules.

AMA
2.B. EXHAUST DIRECTION
Exhaust must be directed away from the racing surface.
5.D. EXHAUST AND MUFFLERS
Length of exhaust/ muffler assembly must not extend past the rear
edge of the rear tire.

Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.

It is the answers from some of the disturbed people that I am most worried about .

Turbo bike needs a hydrazine attitude/altitude adjuster.

This should supply enough side thrust to counter the turbo thrust.

Does the hydrazine count as fuel??
