Hello all.
I am currently producing a national television commercial campaign for Lexus.  One of the commercials we are filming portrays all images of pure speed. We will be featuring some of the fastest things in the world - jets, rockets, dragsters, rocket cars, etc.  We are looking to feature a streamliner or similar roaring down El Mirage Dry Lake Bed.  Per our current schedule we are hoping to shoot this segment of the commercial on one day in mid March. I have already called Al Teague, Ed Shadle, and Ron Main. Al is retired, and Ed and Ron's streamliners are not in working condition at this time. We are hoping to find an interested party by the end of day tomorrow if possible. Please contact me at 310-558-6281 if interested. Thank you. -Hoon Park

  • Nancy -- 201.913 mph record on a production ZX15!

I was thinking that Sparky's "Ratical" would look good parked next to a Lexus.  Hey, better still - they've got Photoshop, I suppose.  Could they take pictures of the Lexus and mix 'em with video of Bill practicing his circular braking skills last year?   I'd sure be inclined to buy a Lexus if I saw that in a commercial.

No racing on El Mirage until May.
All of the commercials, movie productions, and magazine tests
at El mirage are done with a suitable permit and outside the SCTA racing schedule.

Glen, is the use of ElMirage for commercials considered as is racing? Is the lake bed wet now?
I know that it's fragile when wet and damage can occur that takes another flooding to correct.
Has the Mayor ever planned a Bass Fishing tourney when it's flooded?

When the SCTA season points were on the line, the Mayor was recorded on film standing at the edge of the dry and contributing to the wet right along the tide line.
Oh, and the wind was to his back that time.
