The fastest car regularly showing up at San Fernando drag strip was the Ernie's Camera "Shudder Bug" with Prudhomme driving. I got there on my bicycle as I was too young to drive.

Bill Alexander was the only driver for Ernie's Camera, both were good friends and I run into Bill at Pomona every year. Bill crashed the car and in later years did a repo of the car that is usually at the cacklefest at Bakersfield each year. Don started out with one of the Buick powered dragsters.

Bill Alexander was the only driver for Ernie's Camera . . .
My memory is possibly playing tricks, but on the other hand, your statement isn't strictly accurate either. Tommy Ivo did drive the Shudderbug on occasion, under an assumed name, according to his bio on the NHRA site.

San Fernando didn't have a pro dragster show, so any fast cars there were for low-key test and tune sessions, so I might just be right. Ask Don.
