I wonder if the winning bidder gets a room?  Maybe he will get the room next to mine in downtown Wells, Nev., where the nightlife can go...well, all night, if you get my drift.
Slim, my apologies for all the comma's..........

Not new - done last year.
The result you ask :?

Production Supercharged - /PS
C    John E. Morrison      J. Morrison   8/06    206.055

Nothing new here. the bar just got higher for the next guy. Not 2 club level for this class yet, need 220 MPH. Let's not start that argument all over again.

Bob:

All commas were okay, even if there were quite a few.  But you used one too many apostrophes.

Well let see now, I've got $50,000 plus tied up in my ride, rent a ride at, lets see now, $5000 a meet, less expenses, golly I might be able to recoupe my outlay by 2017 barring any breakage and stuff. OOOPPS, that means I don't get to drive my hotrod, no way man. I'm in the pilot seat and any volunteers will share the ride once in a while.

Working with a good crew for free, maybe a t-shirt, and having your picture taken with them is not only worth the investment but a priceless memory that will last longer than the money.
That is not limited to a race team but includes helping with the event.
Building your own ride will be an even more rare commodity with rewards to match.
Building a ride with a buddy or your kid will solidify even that.
If that was tough to understand, then maybe Dave can help.

I'm astounded  :-o.......I read through this thread , most of it hilarious , and absurd....then at the end is Jack ...........in clear unambiguous English explaining the meaning of life.

I can't put a dollar value on what I'm trying to do , don't really care . I see anyone who "buys" extreme adventure experience as a bit like someone riding around in a sedan chair....they haven't really got their "feet on the ground".
Few understand what I'm trying to do but they vastly outnumber those who understand why...................

I believe that it?s not unusual that the comments you?ll find on a thread like this are likely to be a little ridiculous.  Most of us view the idea of renting an LSR ride as opposed to participating in its creation or development absurd and hilarious!

Damn. Ya know I wrote that in American and the English speakers got it anyway.
Monty Python's movie "The meaning of life" has always been a great inspiration for me.

I guess its all supply and demand. If someone is willing to pay, then let them have at it...

Or its simply someone doesnt have the "Time" left, to build a rod and race it,... Could he/she still not fullfill a dream...

I thought it was ridiculous last year, until I sat back and thought about it again... Not that ridiculous... Entrepeneur comes to mind...

Not any different then the MANY MANY MANY people in the sport who have climed into the vehicle of someone elses and set records on the salt... Wether for a beer, or for money... Its all the same... Just one might be able to buy more beer at the end of the day...
