Racing budget protection

Hey there, gentlemen, don't forget that one week from today is Valentine's Day.  Consider the ease with which you get allocations from the household budget for your racing addiction, and then make absolutely positively sure that you get flowers, candy, a fancy negligee, or whatever else it is that you know your better half would appreciate getting from you.  Whether she'll say "You know I need to lose weight -- why'd you buy me candy?" or not, she'll be tickled that you thought about her instead of that new cam that you've been talking about over supper for weeks on end.  Get a mushy card, too, and maybe put in a gift card from a store where you know she'd shop for stuff for herself.

If you really need a new vacuum cleaner so she can pick up the oil dry that you track into the house -- get it and give it to her a couple of days BEFORE next Wednesday.  I got a new vacuum last weekend -- plenty of time in advance of Valentine's Day.

If she lets you go racing -- make sure you let her know you appreciate her.

There's another, perhaps better way to "protect" the racing budget.  Nancy and I both ride both racebikes.  Any parts we buy benefit both of us.  It wasn't very romatic 9at least at first blush) when last year I got her a MoTeC for her bike -- but she set three records on the bike during '06, and that made her happy.

If your spouse doesn't race with you -- go back to the chocolates and lingerie.  You won't be sorry.

try having a wife who makes 9x your salary....
trust me... I know who wears the britches.
dinner at the downtown grille
a piece of stained glass from a local artist
flowers at the restaurant
chocolates at the restaurant
and the clincher:
a babysitter.

SSS is such a good provider Nancy will probably dust him off this year with her new speed equipment.
But I doubt she will cut in on his B'ville job.

Is there any chance she can get that job back? It would improve a lot on some of todays TV.

Don't think they let grandmas compete>one of CBS sunday morning shows did a feature on roller derby and interviewed one of her old "friends".

In days past, I think that roller derby exceeded the NFL for TV viewing.
On the west coast the Bay Area Bombers were bigger than the Raiders.
It was violence that we let the kids watch.
