I was at the rulebook printer yesterday. We need a better photo of Jim Knapp's Barnyard Bomber for the cover. I have asked Jim but the one he sent is unusable.

The car is a streamliner so a profile picture is too long for enough detail. This is your chance to become a part of the process.

Thanks in advance,

Dan,

You've seen Jim's car. There are no better pictures!

There's a good reson for no longer using the practice of placing the #1 car on the cover. We should use our logo.......................J.D

Dan,

The SDRC meeting is tonight and I'll ask if anyone has a good picture. Jim Lattin made a placque for Jim but I didn't see how good the picture was. I assume you want a pic with a clean background.

We make a few "gag" presentations to Jim K. @ our Awards Banquet, like "best appearing car" and ....

Dan, Did you not drive that POS your self?  If so where you ashamed and did not take a picture of yourself with the car? That would be great to have your pic on the rule book. All I can say is that Jim worked his Acura off to earn his #1 and that deserves a pic on the rule book.   Eric

Dan,

We do kid Jim about the looks of his car, but he certainly worked hard for his well earned #1.

I did mention to him last night that you were looking for a better picture.

Jim is the antithesis of the old hotrodder saying "if it don't go, chrome it!"

Speed is the ultimate objective in LSR.

Criminy sakes youse guys!  I got some of youse sayin' basically like paint the sucker or don't come back (in so many words, honest).  I got some of youse sayin' hey it's a thing of beauty in its own strange way.  Don't touch it!  Now I'm inclined to agree with the aficionados of the second part in that I have looked and looked and I can't find nowhere where what we're doin' is called a Paint Job Trial, and it ain't Paint Job Week.

In fact if youse wander around stateline on Saturday evening during SPEED Week you see a whole contingent of what?.... rat rods, am I right?

Just think of the Barnyard Bomber as leading edge as we return to those glorious, and simpler, days of yesteryear when you could get a Red Hat for under $25k (that includes my race car, trailer, motor, mods, dynos, gas, food and hotel rooms BTW) and a Champeenship for under $40k (all of the above, plus more motors, dynos, food, gas and hotel rooms in that number too).

Anyway, sorry, no promises for the outside of the legendary Barnyard Bomber for 2007.  For the inside though...It will go faster.... into history.

Or hysterics.  If it don't, wellll.... I'll just have to chrome it.

NOT!!!

Where is my Ny-Quil when I need a serious hit?

If there is a suitable posed shot of the car, I can get a Photoshop Chrome job put on it .
Then everybody can be equally unhappy.

I think it could be improved with a paint job!

I like Dean's idea.

It might motivate the push crew. They would certainly keep that part of the car dust free.
