MicroSoft Internet Explorer 7
« on: December 02, 2006, 01:04:07 PM »
I saw on the profile that some of the member are using the brand new (for us in Germany) Internet Explorer # 7 from MS.

Before I install them on my PC I have some question to the new one.

- what experience maked the user of the new # 7
- did it works alright
- is there an advantage against the old one
- any kind of bucks known
- just opnion to the new one.

thanks in advance

Pork,

After testing we are putting IE7 on about 130 PCs at my work. No problems or management would not have gone forward.

I've been using it for several days and I'm liking it. It takes a little getting used to. The column that has appeared on the left up until now is gone so that you have a full screen as the norm. Clicking on the favorites star brings up the list right where you left off. Works well with a new cleaner look. So far it's been problem free.

I updated to IE7 about 1 week ago. No problem as of yet. Just a little different layout but no problems here, and some new features also.

I like it.

I am in love with the tabs feature! Keeps my screen organized & clean!
I had to tweak the toolbars to my liking but that was no biggies.
I have found one or two web sites that don't work so well but I think
the web designers are already addressing it.
BTW you have seperate tab options and the ability to clean up cookies
and the likes have more options too!
I really like it!
Wish I could put it on all my machines but I think it's XP and up only.

I've had it on my home machine for a while (beta) and find it to be more how I wanted a browser to be set up.  The only problem I had was that I would every so often, and especially when I wanted to keep particular page open, was closing the whole when I only wanted to close a particular tab. Not a problem with the software, just old habits.

iv'e had the same problem with closing everything. Now I have a pop-up window that asks me if I want to close everything. Eventually I'll be trained enough that I can get rid of the window.
