We ran the 50cc engine with a turbocharger on fuel (2008 Bonneville).
We also ran 50cc, 100cc and 125cc class engines naturally aspirated on gas or fuel.
hi Eric, I wrote you a PM
so the 144.921mph (233 km/h) record was established with or without turbo?

Record photo is S50ccBF

The 2008 144mph record was with a turbocharger.

FIM/AMA and SCTA have different class designations and slightly different rules. They generally do not admit that a record set by the other organization exists.

The list above was from a poster I made for a show. I only listed the fastest FIM/AMA Bonneville records. There were also slower Bonneville AMA only records, and an SCTA motorcycle record.
I assumed that the audience did not really care who was looking at the stopwatch for a particular record so I did not list the details of the sanctioning bodies involved.

We are noodling the idea of a turbo on our 125cc streamliner and in figuring out the designation for the motor class stumbled into this thread.
Apologies ahead of time if i have this incorrect, just need clarity. The AMA Record for the BuddFab Streamliner from 2008 record is currently listed in the 50cc class as S_AF which i believe is incorrect as turbo records in other classes are listed as S-BF. If i have this correct i can now sleep at night. i couldn't get my head around the 50cc without a turbo going 144MPH.

To that end running methanol or nitro methane or any gasoline not supplied at the event puts you into the Fuel class (F) and a Turbo or Supercharger is the Blown class (B). Just want to have this right for our race entries.

FIA rules are not FIM or AMA rules. SCTA rules are unlike everybody else's. The S/AF class is correct, for the association, that certified the record.

Some associations do not have Gas classes. fuel is open. Some associations do not have Supercharged classes. Rules can and do change.

If you are running SCTA, ask them. If you are running AMA or FIM, ask them. The answers will surely be different.

The FIM designation for the 2008 record is I.A1.C.V. 1 100cc  It just had to have spark ignition (V) because it was a streamliner (C).
