OMG, Willi ... I'm even older so make big mistakes. Is 14.4006 seconds ok for 250?
I still have time to edit so will go back to fix it . . . but thanks.   :-D

Why is there not an exit speed given for the short course? That would be a motivator for sure!

Yea... that would only be another set of lights, another survey point and about 2 miles more of wire    :?  :?

The 1-2 light was put there for the under highway speed records in hopes they would not drone slow for 3 miles... it is actually another good data point like the quarter.  A little light math between the quarter and 3 mile should give a fairly good motivator indication....  8-)

I asked my buddy, pretty sure he was on the wire laying crew this year, why do we need to lay all this wire? NHRA doesn't.

Buddy asked one of the Rice? bros. And was told the cost was a lot.

But minus the cost of hotels, meals and daily pay for at least 2 workers over several years,
   what would be the cost?

Several problems with wireless timing . Transmitted signals can be lost from static from distant lightning . Salt interferes with transmissions . The timers I think are still owned and maintained by the Rice brothers . New wireless timing wouldn't necessarily plug into the existing timers . Any new system would require electronic minded people that aren't necessarily available . Australia has/had wireless timing . We need to see what they've learned . The system we use now works well .
