Back around 1970, Craig Breedlove built a ICE-powered trike. It had a lakester-style body, separated widely spaced rear wheels covered by spats and the two front wheels were inside the nose cone 5" apart. It was to run in three classes, a 373" GMC blown AMC V8, a blown 290" and finally, Barney Navarro's built-for-Indy AMC turbo six.
The car and engines were featured in a HRM Annual, but I don't remember if it ever actually competed.
