Eric Wittler
« on: April 07, 2020, 03:38:29 PM »
I was just told he was injured in a motorcycle accident and is in the Reno NV Hospital ICU... in a medically induced coma to help reduce swelling on his brain.  Eric has been a regular competitor at El Mirage, SpeedWeek and WoS chasing the 1000 AG record.
I believe Eric currently holds that record at El Mirage
Thoughts and prayers please

I hate to say it but it's part of the NAE curse.
Good luck Eric, you got this, hang in there.

It is with great sadness that I relay this info from Eric's dad Rick and JoAnn Wittler...

"This is JoAnn, Rick's wife. We have just talked with the neurosurgeon. As prepared as we were trying to be, the doctor said it's time to let Eric go. Obviously, Rick is sick with sorrow, and not wanting/able to tell you all of this horrific news. We will fly out Tuesday morning so he can be with Eric and say goodbye. We can only pray the hospital will allow him in. Eric will be cremated out there and there will be a memorial service at a later date. He will try to obtain Power of Attorney so he can tend to Eric?s affairs. God give him strength. Thank you all for your continued love and support and needed strength for Rick."

Needless to say this is not the outcome we all prayed for.  For further info, Facebookers can go to Eric Wittler Update to read it all....
We are losing a good friend and fellow racer....

I'm very sorry to read this. I met Eric last year at El Mirage, after following his cool bike's records online. My condolences to his family, friends, and dogs. Dean

Eric had not only the needs for speed, he was also a very talented photographer....and we had the hope that he could follow the steps
of Doc Freud, Ray the Rat, mine.....

Eric was taken off life support on the 15th.  He was an organ donor, so he still lives on...

GodSpeed Eric... We know and remember you.
