I lost records two times when you used an SCTA certifier.  I guess he didn't even look in their Log Books as they'd been turned down out of Impound and Inspection at the previous SpeedWeek.  I got 'em both back, but it was a hassle.  You'd think after the first time he would have been embarrassed.  It's too bad you can't use your own certifiers.

Monte, other than knowing registration count, what additional unanswered questions does USFRA need answered before a final decision to hold WoS?

Breaking news from the USFRA:

After much thought and with a heavy heart the Utah Salt Flats
Racing Association has elected to cancel the 2020 World of Speed.
Watching the record number of Covid 19 cases each day in Utah and the
surrounding states we have decided the safety of our volunteers,
competitors and spectators is number one. A large percentage of the
USFRA volunteers are in the high risk category and we do not want to
put these people in a position that may compromise their health and
safety. To everyone who entered for the 2020 World of Speed you will
receive a full refund. The USFRA will be back with a 2021 World of
Speed. Stay well and hope to see you then.

Monte, thank you very much for letting us know well in advance. As much as it hurts, your notice saves many racers additional pain trying to complete preparations for September.

Monte, thank you for getting the word out as early as you could. I know this wasn't an easy decision for USFRA to make.

Monte,
Hard decision but the right one. Salt racing has more than its' share of "aged" participants (I'm one of them) and none of us want this stuff. We WILL be there next year as World Of Speed is our favorite meet.
