Std body Coupe with Ford 9"
« on: July 14, 2020, 02:45:21 PM »
Hello experts,
On closer inspection of our fifty year old chassis, it has been pointed out that the holes are not holding the metal together as well as we hoped. It looks like our last trip to the salt is still letting itself be known!
Obviously we are working to strengthen up our chassis and are taking the opportunity to add some strength over and beyond what is required.
We are using a Ford 9" rear axle c/w leaf springs, coilovers and a panhard rod.
We are wondering whether we should add any sort of stabilising bars to limit movement with the torque loading?
We would be very interested to see images of how other people have dealt with the problem, if indeed this is a real problem and we're not just worrying unnecessarily.
We have approximately 1000 bhp which is about three times more than the chassis was designed for.
