JL222, just passing along what the med community has to say in my part of the world. I hope they are wrong and if we are all conscientious about how we practice cleanliness, it may take longer. But COVID-19 is a fast moving virus so it will eventually find its way to all of us.

Getting into a flying petri dish at this stage might be a good way to pick yourself up a chunk of Chinavirus.

This attached might help to understand why folks are doing what they do.

The Wuhan flu has been in our area of Oregon for maybe a month.  People have been getting it that are not coming back from overseas or in contact with those that have.  We are developing the herd immunity discussed in the podcast.  Rose is 68 with asthma and I lost part of a lung to pneumonia so we have been in self isolation since late February.  The bank balance gets better is one thing I noticed.  A fellow cannot spend much money if he doesn't leave his house.

WW - thanks for that and stay hunkered down!

From a friend of a friend - no real sources so do with it what you will .......... my water bill is going up with all the extra flushing.

Here?s a message from a friend with CDC

Hi Family,
This info is from a friend that works for CDC (Center for Disease Control) that passed this along to his family and friends. I'm passing it along as well.. .. you do the same!
The new NCP coronavirus may not show sign of infection for many days, how can one know if he/she is infected. By the time they have fever and/or cough and goes to the hospital, the lungs is usually 50 % Fibrosis and it's too late!
Taiwan experts provide a simple self-check that we can do every morning:
Take a deep breath and hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stuffiness or tightness, etc.,it proves there is no fibrosis in the lungs, basically indicating no infection.
In critical times, please self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.
SERIOUS EXCELLENT ADVICE by Japanese Doctors treating COVID-19 cases:
Everyone should ensure your mouth & throat is moist, never DRY. Take a few sips of water every 15 mins at least. WHY?
Even if the virus gets into your mouth...drinking water or other liquids will WASH them down through your esophagus into the stomach. Once there in tummy...your stomach ACID will kill all the virus. If you don't drink enough water more regularly....the virus can enter your windpipes and into the LUNGS. That's very dangerous.

If the BLM cancels Speedweek, it will be interesting to see if it cancels Burning Man in the Black Rock desert where they make $$$. $500 per head times a maximum of 65,000 participants! You do the math.

Thanks Mike - my bad! :x
BTW: I really don't don't have that much faith in Snopes credibility so I did not look there.

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The DLRA 30th Anniversary Speed Week and World Speed Trials Australia #2 has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed.

After exhausting all avenues it is with great sadness that the DLRA has come to the realisation that to conduct Speed Week and WSTA for 2020 has the potential to put people at risk.
Something that it strives to limit and remove from all of it's activities.

There are several key reasons as to why this decision has been made, and we can assure everyone it has not been made lightly.
The strategies that are being deployed to combat this virus by Government and other organisations is placing enormous demands on a finite group of specialists.
Originally we had planned for 3 doctors to be in place for the 2 events, but as of today we only have 1 and there is no guarantee that even he will be available by the end of the week.
Similarly the South Australian Country Fire Service is calling on its members to reduce their extra curricular volunteer activities as they are forced to replace members who have been inflicted with the virus.
We could no longer guarantee the appropriate medical and fire services that are required for such and event.

Now that the Corona Virus has been officially identified as a pandemic, most public liability insurance policies consider any episodes to be exempt which would leave the DLRA open to financial ruin.
Even with the concerted efforts that the DLRA were prepared to put into place through it's mitigation plan would not be enough to ensure a safe, risk free environment.

To our international entrants, we are truly sorry, but with the recent introduction of the 14 day self isolation for anyone entering Australia, it has made competing impossible for many of you.

There will be more information made available in the days to come.

Please bear with us while we regroup and plan for the future.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

John

They are cancelling the Kentucky Derby, saying they may run it later this summer.  I doubt it.  You aught to do the math on that event!
