Yeah do ...185 is moving..I'm hoping to get there eventually.  Salt, all the safety wire is done , triple clamps, axles, and numerous other things.  I was an aviation mechanic for 20 years so very familiar!  Fortunately
I have some help with the tuning and hope it all goes as planned.  Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Eric at EDR has a dyno and he is good at fine tuning the stuff he sells.  Also, he is good with exhausts.

Just an idea for your rear brake.  Use your old front brake handle and master cylinder with a long braided line to operate the rear disc instead of the rear master cylinder and pedal.  Much easier to operate and helps in the loading and unloading process.
We get too soon oldt, and too late schmart!

Kid, thought about that but didnt want more clutter on front of bike.  I put the bike in gear and pull in clutch and use clutch to slow bike while unloading.  Guess I'll see how that works.  Thanks for the suggestion

If you run with the SCTA at Bonneville, you will be running on our (Pflum & Wagner, Jeanie Pflum and Jamie Wagner) record from 2013.

Your build is looking good. You seem to be doing all the things I would do/did with the 2006 CBR1000RR.

Your challenges will be getting tucked into the bike to minimize your wind drag, enough power to pull the drag and getting that power hooked up on the salt. Pretty much the same as all Land Speed competitors. To give you an example; Jeanie is around 5'7", i think. I am 6'1" and about 220 on a good day, she is 8-10 mph faster than me on a back-to-back run. I have to knock a big hole in the air and pay the price in speed.

For power, our bike made 180 RWHP on a Dynojet 250i dyno in Santa Ana, CA.

The attached picture of the bike is from Speed Week 2011, but it really hasn't changed much since then. We ran it a lot at El Mirage on gas and then with some nitrous, but never got back to Bonneville with nitrous......yet.

Good luck and be careful out there.

BVCBR,
I have used your bike as my inspiration for the last year or so.    I have noticed a lot of things you guys have done and replicated some of them.  Your CBR is my desktop picture so I know who's record I'm chasing always!  Lol.  Thanks for reaching out.  The CBR is beautiful.  This is my rookie year out....I will build on what I learn the bike does on the salt this year.   Cheers

If you have any questions about how or what I have done to the bike, PM me. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. As they say, "records are intended to be broken". If you can put a couple of mph on it, that might motivate us to get back out there.

The biggest improvement to speed on a naked bike is for the rider to stand/squat off his footpegs, basically raising his bum thus flatting their back,, you will hafta experiment a little with different positions at speed,, the bike will tell ya when you have found the sweet spot, you will actually feel the bike freeup and take on more speed  :-) 8-)
First Australian to ride a motorcycle over 200mph at Bonneville,,,

Got the tank done and bike out for some fresh air.  Ordered my Arrow Header exhaust today.  Coming from Italy....the same Italy that is currently shut down due to the Corona Virus so it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get. :?   Fender getting painted next.  Still have some bits to tidy up on the bike like hoses and a few wires.  Sending the ECU to EDR soon for the tune as well.  Steering damper mount is ordered and on the way.  Rear fairing still needs to be addressed...probably going with a Woodcraft tail section.  Not much left....but everyone knows the bike is never really done!

Just catching up, but did you consider cutting the tank down to get your helmet lower?  Yea it will spoil the nice paint, but that is the easy part to fix.

Stainless, yeah i actually did.  The tank was something i spent a lot of time considering what to do with.  Having so much work to accomplish in a pretty short amount of time I decided to go this route this year.  There are numerous changes I have considered and will see how I fair this year and then execute the changes I feel i need to make after the season is over.  Thanks for the advice..Im always open to hearing suggestions!

Having a difficult time addressing rear fairing.  The one I currently have (stock) Is a POS and pretty hammered.  I want a tail section that does not have the flair outs for the old under tail exhaust.  Just a normal superbike style tail.  Woodcraft makes one it flares out on sides.  Anyone have experience altering another bike model Tail section to fit?  Need to fit Tuner boxes in tail section as well.
