Ordered Woodcrafts key elimination harness and cut the ignition portion of the triple clamp off.  Smoothed it out and now no key needed!  The Yellow harness in the picture is the woodcraft harness.

Since I lowered the subframe a few inches, the tank mount no longer reached.  The tank is mounted in 4 places, one in the front up by triple clamp, one on each side of tank to frame and the last mount to subframe.  Didnt really NEED the aft mount but def felt a bit stiffer and safer having something to anchor the back of the fuel tank.  Also made up a battery tie down strap as well.

Got around to the rear brake (Front brakes have been removed)  Installed new Galfer rotor, EBC pads, stainless line and a small reservoir to eliminate the big ugly reservoir that is stock.

While sitting on the bike i noticed it a bit difficult to get toe under shifter in full tuck position.  Made a moto-gp shift setup.  The shift rod normally goes through the frame to the shift linkage.....I modified it to the outside of frame so all I have to do is press down to shift up.  If it is something that doesn't work out, 5 minutes and a few tools to put it back to a normal shift pattern.

Sprocket and chain have been something that I have done an exhaustive amount of research on.  The stock gearing of the 07 R1 is 17/45.  530 chain pitch is stock.  I have gone to a 520 conversion and have a 40 tooth, 38 tooth, and 36 tooth rear sprocket.  The picture is the 38 tooth installed.  In order to find a 36 tooth 520 sprocket, I contacted Rebel gears in Tennessee and they will make sprockets to order.  Received the sprocket and its very nice work!  I have installed a new 17 tooth counter sprocket and having Rebel Gears make me an 18 tooth 520 pitch front.  This website has been a big help in giving a ballpark estimate of gearing.

The chain i went with is an EK 3D Moto GP chain.  Very nice chain with a tensile strength of almost 10k pounds!

Had to figure out a way to limit steering so clip ons don't smack into tank.  Pulled front end apart, repacked all of the bearings, then drilled and tapped the lower triple clamp to make adjustable steering stops.  Worked out very well.  I can give myself more steering to unload and load the bike and then limit steering when needed.

Someone at some point had dropped or layed down the bike and did a pretty good number to the tank.  They attempted a very poor repair with some bondo.  I am currently fixing the crappy tank repair and am almost ready to paint it.   The last owner (or owners) didnt know what they were doing and probably should have never attempted to "fix" a motorcycle! lol8

As the bike sits now.  I have done so much work and taken such few pictures that it is tough to remember everything i have done.  I am sending the ECU off to Eric at EDR Performance and having him flash the ECU and then setup a Rapid Bike piggy back system with an auto tune.  Rapid bike makes some very nice stuff.  I have a set of Arrow headers on the way and will be installing a wide band O2 bung in them for the wide band tuning.  More to come if I can force myself to take pics as I work!

Thanks for posting the bike build! It looks like you are doing all the right stuff to get your bike down low and as streamlined as you can get a naked bike. Now you just need lots of horsepower and traction. It looks like the SCTA record is 185.250. Good luck!

Looks like a lot of work is going into this bike, looks good.

Just a head's up: I've done "hundreds" of tunes on bikes that "had" an autotune system that owners got aggravated with.  They seem to not do all that well.  Sometimes it's the location of the bung, sometimes it's the quirky charging system of motorcycles.  What ever it is, the tunes have been off.

Also, a suggestion not to get to aggressive with the gearing.  M bikes have a hard time pushing the wind.

07R1, I'm sure you are on top of it but just in case don't forget to safety wire your axles.
