Late model Triumph Bonneville race parts
« on: November 20, 2019, 01:09:55 PM »
Squirrels stash nuts and racers hoard parts.  It is time to get rid of some race parts for late model Triumph Bonnevilles.  These are the twin cam Bonnies made between 2001 and 2014.  Is there any interest in these on this forum?  I can list them here before they are flipped on E-Bay.

I was going to have this thread deleted.  There was no interest in the parts.  Today I found something someone might want.  It will be posted tomorrow.

Tomorrow is now.  This is a paperback book, copyright date 1958, "The Fast Ford Handbook", by Murray Fahnestock.  It gives tuning tips for Model T Fords from the era when they were new or newer cars.  Some sentences on a few pages have yellow highlighter.  Ten samolians plus shipping make this your book.

The Fast Ford Book is sold.  At one time I was going to build a show car.  It would be a Model T hopped up as per that book with no more recent modifications.  It would have been a nice project.

This book is "Muroc:  May 15, 1938" by William Carroll, copyright date 1991, ISBN 0-910390-30-4  It is a good account of the races at Muroc including names, cars, car clubs, and speeds.  The lower right corner of the cover is dog-eared.  Otherwise the book is in fine shape.  Fifteen clams plus shipping is all it costs.

These machine tools I would like to sell as a single lot quick.  While I am still here.  The Red China flu...

First is an almost brand new Vertex JT3 16mm capacity chuck with a No. 3 Jacobs taper.  It is in an adapter for a No. 3 Morse taper.  With it is an adapter for Morse No. 2 to Morse No. 3, and another adapter for Morse No. 3 to Morse No. 4 tapers.  More in this lot will follow.

Also in this lot is this real nice indexing head for 5C collets.  It has 24 positions and is great for milling flats on bolts or drilling for safety wire.  It is similar to the one I use on my drill press for this purpose.  A 5C collet set is not hard to find used.  The other two parts came with the indexing head when I got it.  I am not sure what they are for.

Another view of the indexing head.

This is a complete Kenrok 5C collet block set.  According to the guy I got it from, the work is inserted into the collet, the collet is put in the holder and the holder is clamped to the tool rest on the cross-feed on a lathe.  Shims are put under the holder to make it the desired height.  A mill bit is chucked into the lathe.  The cross-feed is used to push the work under the cutter.  It is primarily used to make bolt heads.  I have never used it so I cannot give input from experience.

This is the lot.  Best offer, including shipping, by Thursday midnite and I will ship it out by UPS on Friday.

Sorry Bo, I've not been able to keep up very well while in Australia... PM me a go/no go number if you still have the machine tools... I hope to be back in the Us April 2... I will see LR.com again about then.
I don't know that I need them or can use them, but tools are tools... you never know.

Will do.  They are in a safe place where I will not lose them until you get back.  They are useful tools.  All one needs are some 5C collets and they are readily available used.  That was what I was going to get at one time.  Now I am downsizing.  Stay safe.
