Same Lee, Wrong car. He has two.
The car he crashed was his twin turbo car at over 297 mph.
Wishing you a speedy recovery Lee. Get better soon.

4 of us went to the hospital tonight to visit Lee and Jan.
Lee is banged up, bruised and black and blue on several parts of his body. It is painful for him to talk with the broken ribs. He is in good spirits and it looks like he is on the road to recovery.
It was nice to chat with him for a bit.

From the tire marks on the course, it was obvious the car got sideways. We all know what happens after that.
However, Lee did say he hit something. He stated that he felt it hit the front air dam and then he felt it hit the floor pan. It felt to him that the right front tire went down.
We will go back and look at photos to see what we can determine.

Looking at the front air dam on the #97 car shown in Dyno Mikes post, I think given the condition of the Salt that it is possible that a piece of the air dam may have broken off (or been sheared off) causing a tire to shred.  Ground clearance of Air Dam's on shorter wheelbase vehicles (especially those with front suspension) is  something that all of us need to consider in the future depending on the Salt's condition at the time.
Get well Lee, it sounds like You have a spare race car awaiting You!
