Yea, the rain threw a wrench in it. As far as the ruts go it looks like the decision was made to race. Now that we had hard rains 2 days in a row, it needs to be re-assessed. Good news is, weather channel is saying 0% chance of rain from today through the 15th. Hopefully Bill will hold off his assessment until Sunday or Monday. Weather channel also predicting west wind of 12 MPH. El Mirage horsepower will be in full force.

The BLM is the elephant in the room. If they say no it doesn't matter what Bill thinks.

And if Bill says no, it doesn't matter what the BLM thinks. Your point?

Over the past few years it has become obvious that the BLM does not want the racing at both Bonneville and El Mirage. Each year new regulations make it more difficult and expensive to conduct events at these locations.

The point of my previous post is that the BLM have the final say whether we race or not. This is my observation from over 55 years of SCTA participation.

Dan,

I am pretty sure that the policies and permit requirements have evolved from lawsuits such as this;

LOS ANGELES >> A total of $5.8 million will be paid to the families of eight people who were killed and 12 people who were injured during an off-road racing event in the Mojave Desert?s Johnson Valley in August 2010.

The U.S. Department of the Interior and Bureau of Land Management will pay the bulk of the settlement, $4.8 million, and the race organizers and promoters, Mojave Desert Racing, Inc., and Mojave Desert Racing (MDR) Productions, Inc., will pay their insurance policy limits of $1 million.

Bill can make a decision but if BLM doesn't allow access, it doesn't matter.

We are probably in violent agreement. Sorry if I was snarky earlier.
