Any "Premium" Air-Water Intercooler Brands?
« on: August 27, 2019, 11:52:59 AM »
Upon returning from Speed Week and doing some light wrench-turning, I discovered an internal leak in the air-water intercooler used for my 2 liter diesel engine.

Since the one I'm using is a "CX Racing" Ebay type of unit (cheap Chinese crap), I'd like to upgrade to a more robust intercooler that hopefully won't leak water into my intake tract.

Any suggestions for a good, reliable Air-Water intercooler manufacturer or supplier?

Thanks,

Steve.

Bell intercooler is going to be the top of the line. They will custom build anything you can dream up.

We use ProChargers intercooler 12x12 core. Has a one piece formed top and same on bottom.

Water goes in at front middle of intercooler and out at back top insuring no air is trapped. some don't.

I've seen some intercoolers with additional straps welded over first welded connection for extra strength.

We did lose one intercooler because of corrosive water from fill up at the restaurant and gas station
at turn off to the salt, also ate holes in intercooler tank.
