Documentary at World of Speed '19
« on: July 31, 2019, 08:56:54 PM »
Hey World of Speed Drivers

My name is Justin. I work for an Australian documentary production team that is looking to come to World of Speed on September 12th and 13th to film the event. We have spoken to the team at USFRA and they're happy to have us film, and they suggested I post here to see if any drivers would be happy or interested in featuring as part of the program?

As a "featured" driver, we'd love the chance to have our host meet you on the 12th, discuss what you do and why you love it, check out the car (etc) and then focus on your event on the 13th via the use of GoPros or other small camera's. Any footage we take can be made available to you after the event as well.

The documentary in question is "Todd Sampson's Body Hack", a travel and science series going into its fourth season. A trailer for the third season can be found here.

I'm happy to discuss details further if interested, so please feel free to respond here, or send me an email at -

Thanks
Justin

I think you are going to World of Speed, not Speed Week.
I have no idea what I'm doing... but it seems to be working!

They interviewed me, too - when I was doing inspections at WoS.  The guy said they were from an Aussie network that was tied in with Discovery Channel.  I remember signing a waiver that included my contact info, but I haven't heard anything from them.

If you want to see a documentary at the World of Speed that is relevant to the deterioration of the salt flats watch YouTube Vid. "1989 Bonneville Salt Flats Racing". At exactly 29 minutes Gregg Morgan of the Bureau of Land Management speaks the Truth. It would be good if he was still alive and would speak the truth 30 years later. Especially if he's not been bought off.  It is actually a great video for anyone to watch that wants to familiarize them self with the over all experience of LSR from the perspective of the racer.
