Hotels....
« on: June 20, 2019, 07:34:00 AM »
May as well start talking about hotels since about everything is pretty much booked solid already.

Looks like there are still rooms at the Nugget beginning Monday night but nothing around town available for the weekend. I'll keep checking back with them as they tend to open up as we get closer, but if anyone has 3 rooms for Sunday night please let me know.  Thanks:)

Try Wells ? it's a quick commute.

Make sure you get the nightly rate, not the hourly.

For years I would not get to Wendover until Monday. Would stay in Ely on Sunday night and drive in on Monday. Never had a problem getting a room Monday night and beyond. So many people only come for the Weekend to party then leave.

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers. As a young boy I was always taught that there is no such thing as a stupid question. It suggests that the quest for knowledge includes failure, and that just because one person may know less than others they should not be afraid to ask rather than pretend they already know. In many cases multiple people may not know but are too afraid to ask the "stupid question"; the one who asks the question may in fact be doing a service to those around them.

I booked at the Best Western Plus back in January and they told me that about 2 weeks before Speed Week they will release a few rooms that they keep in reserve.

Maybe some of the other places will do the same.

You should grab any room you can.... the two above could be 'double ups' till rooms start to open up on Monday.   We slept 8 in one room at the Patio "back in the day"  :?

I never could figure out if the rooms had a dirt floor or the carpet was just that dirty.

And then there was the time that Nancy and I strolled past the open door to Jon Amo's room.  He and Joe had the 600 bike inside the room at Motel 6 for some work.  I THINK they had a tarp down.

If anyone still needs a room, I just cancelled one at the Nugget. It was from August 7-15. Ask for Tammy at Reservations. She is very helpful!

I may have three two bed non smoking rooms available at the Nugget starting August ninth  and checking out on August 14th.
Rooms are easy to extend stay beyond the 14th, and are $952.94 each.
I am waiting for a confirmation phone call before I release the rooms, so email Me if You are interested.  Do Not Call Me.
                                        lorideorbob@aol.com
I will respond in the order I receive the emails.  You will need to assume the confirmations by Thursday, 7/18/2019 and will be able to cancel after that day for roughly $200. per room to the Nugget.
I will only let these rooms go to Racers thru Wednesday, noon P.D.T. and anyone else thru noon Thursday at which time they will be cancelled.                                                             Bob
p.s.  You don't have to take all three.....................
