From what I've read,  the salt is less than ideal.

I would agree with that statement!  It was by far the roughest I've seen in my 20 runs.  The pits have emptied out quite a bit.  Talked to some people who pulled the plug without even making a run.  Lost power a bit past halfway today, but still managed to qualify for a "C" license.  Looks like it was the L/H turbo, which has now been replaced.  We went to re-stage the car, and were overjoyed to see that the line was MUCH shorter than yesterday or earlier today.  So we're hoping with fewer cars, it won't get torn up as quickly or badly.  They were moving the course to the right once again as we left.

Thank you guys for doing the broadcast.  We left Tuesday after only making 1 run, but it is great to hear what is going on.

  Yes!
There was a delay to get running; then it just cruised very slowly, picked up to maybe 100 MPH.

Jon said he heard something at the start.

We heard an announcement on the radio that Team Vesco was just doing a data-gathering pass.  That may be the case, as even though it was running quite slowly, they did make a full pass, rather than turning out.

Speaking of turn outs, on my third run in the 6556, it died right off the line.  So, I turned out immediately, and my guys pushed me over to the return road.  Turned out to be the R/H turbo, matching the L/H turbo failure mid-way on the first run.  The good news is that we did qualify for a "C" license on that first run.  On the second, we ran a 191+ in Mile 3 for the "B" license sign-off.  Hope to try for more at WoS with new turbo's!

The event is done.  We ran the qualifiers from yesterday - most but not all backed up the record - and pulled the plug on it.

Next time for sure!!  Thanks for everything, kids, and don't forget that I have t-shirts to sell you.  $20 each plus shipping, and I'll cram in as many as I can in a flat rate package.

I know it's way too early to speculate, but after the conditions at SpeedWeek, are there any prognostications about course quality at WoS?

I had a great time at SpeedWeek getting to visit and meet new people and I was so glad (in an ironic way) that we had last minute problems and didn't drag the truck all the way there just to sit in frustration.
