12W. Do the math. 863 miles 2-3 gas stops, bad back and siting is hell. A few walk abouts to keep from going to the E.R. Food. 300 runs over 240 in a TAD dragster and NHRA championship, red hat at 273.4 Maybe I do my racing on the track

3am Sunday morning the wind has come big time! This should help considerably with the wet course.

I friend of mine takes two days to get there from Oly. He takes his dogs and stops frequently for them and to stretch etc. He seems amazed that I drive straight through. I'm just not that comfortable pulling a trailer and going fast enough to keep up with traffic. Back in the 60's I made it from L.A. to Oly. in 15 hrs, or at least that was my claim.  Actually sorry I even posted, didn't think it was going to turn into a timed event

I'm keeping my ears open for chatter on the radio about conditions on the course - but haven't heard much of anything.  No racing today (Sunday), that's for sure.  It's quite a bit drier on the access roads and stuff, but there ain't no news yet.

Stainless just moseyed in and out of the radio trailer and reminded me to tell youse guys that we'll have an unofficial Salt Talks at the Bend in the Road tonight.  Bring your own everything (food, drinks, chairs) including your wallets to buy a shirt or three.

D A M N!  Joe, the guy that owns the Ducati I WAS going to ride, just called to say he was headed home - figures the courses won't come around soon enough - he's gotta get to other stuff.  SHOOT!!

I think I'll go sulk. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

The U of Utah Salt Flats Camera is pointed right at the pits. It is fun to watch the time-lapse movie of all the vehicles and people running around.

Son of a GUN!  I got a nice new laptop for streaming - and Microsoft has the H-P so tied up in software hassles - requiring me to join this, sign up for that, etc - that I can't get the new software to load, much less run.  Apple is my next hope.

It would be neat to have a flag or wind sock in the webcam view here.

I just found this from SCTA/BNI:

SCTA Southern California Timing Association
37 mins ?

SW 2019 Update #10 (8/11/19):

Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. we will start racing. There will be no Pre-Stage it is first come first serve and the number of courses for Tuesday will be determined. As of now, the long course is the only one ready. Anyone can run on the long course, but it will only be timed to the 4 mile and you must exit before the 6 mile. If you go past the six it is in bad shape. Short course vehicles must shut down at the 3 mile and the Rookie Course vehicles must shut down at the 2 mile. Rookie orientation is Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. at the Registration Trailer.

JUST A REMINDER, THE NEW SPEED LIMIT FOR THE ACCESS ROAD IS 45 MPH.

We will continue to post updates.

See ya on the salt!

Thanks for the updates. I guess I'll come over on Tuesday morning.
What do the shirts look like?  Are they available on here or at least a picture of them?

Mostly I'm hoping they are not white shirts. I ruin white shirts too fast to make them worth buying.
(Sarcasm voice on) But bonus points if the  lady who models them is easy to look at. (Sarcasm voice off)
