Howdy, racers and everybody.  Now we've got a place for the current years' talk.

Let me start by asking if there's anything new in the yearly chase for lodging.  A guy up here wants to attend SW and I just haven't heard anything.  What's the story?

I might start a sub-thread for this, but first:

There's a good chance that Nancy can't attend SpeedWeek this year thanks to her new job.  And that means that I need help if we're going to have a Salt Talks.  Anybody want to step up and do lots of work?

There's quite a bit to do, so please ask me for details before you sign up.  I'd sure like to host the event as usual, but I can't do it without help.

Salt Talks is the land speed racer gathering that Landracing.com has put on damn near every year for nearly 20 years.  It's a burgers, chips, and pop, and BYOB chairs and beer, and join us after racing ends Sunday, 11 August.

Jon, if Gus and I make it to Speedweek, you can count on us.

It all depends on Sandra's recovery.

News Flash - the storied Darbyshire & Anderson land speed racing team has finally selected/contracted a hired gun to ride the 639 Ducati 1350 P-P. This will be none other than the site administrator, the gent (?) we know as Seldom Seen Slim (known to many government agencies under his alias Jon). Contract details are of course confidential but all concerned are praying this will not end badly. Bill and I will also be running Bill's Weslake-powered sidecar rig. Be sure to wander by our pit if you are attending Speed Week 2019 - SSS might be signing autographs from time to time.

I received this tonight.

See Slim's post of March 11.

And how am I supposed to "enter" when they haven't even come up with an entry code and a verified class numbering scheme for the new modified GT class - and the rule books won't be shipped until late April?

Already contacted JoAnn . . .

They were in this all-fired ram-it-down-their-throats hurry to push the change - and now they're sitting on their hands.
