Hey Everyone,

I'm happy to post the 503 mph run by the Vesco Turbinator II.  It took place at the World Finals on the Bonneville Salt Flats on October 2, 2018.  The Turbinator II was the first wheel driven vehicle as well as the ONLY wheel driven vehicle to surpass 500 mph.  The Rick Vesco owned Turbinator II was driven by Dave Spangler who recorded a five mile speed of 493.037 mph and a terminal speed of 503.332 mph!  Hope you all enjoy!!!

Question, when the chutes blossom one brakes free, was this a failure, or was it a sacrifice chute ??

Good eye, I missed that  undecided

I doubt that they wanted it to go, maybe why they release two at first or maybe it wasn't suppose to be released until the car was running slower?

Each chute is released by the driver.Dave knew when it opened and felt it come off and deployed the nexe chute, there are 3 on the car. The Turbinator had top speed at all three meets and over 500 at the world finals. 503'332MPH.

on closer inspection (at the 2.13-14) thay appear to have been deployed together, it would appear that the teather on one has failed  undecided
