Motorcycle Protective Gear
« on: October 06, 2018, 06:36:50 PM »
I just received my 2018 rule book, looking through the rules section it mentions nothing about material aside from synthetics or perforation.  I have seen mentioned that suits that are perforated or use leather derived from other than cow skin are not allowed.

Are the above items true and if so, how can a competitor get a complete rules listing to avoid problems like that when reading the rules?

It doesn't specify cow leather over any other critter -- but it does say leather.

You HAVE a complete rules listing if you have the Rulebook.  If you have problems understanding how the rules apply to your outfit I'd say you should contact the M/C officials.  They're listed on page 200 of your book.  Van Butler, Russ O'Daly, Scott Mattern - start with those guys.
