Amazing ingenuity on display. After watching NASCAR, IndyCar, and F1 going to "spec" racers - even dragsters - it is refreshing to see this amazing variety of competitive bikes. And these guys do it for love of the sport. Keep on truckin' y'all!

The wind tunnel I was at last week is in Mooresville, North Carolina.  That town and Charlotte are the epicenter of NASCAR.  Several conversations with locals were about NASCAR.  They spend huge amounts of money and effort to race those cars.  Very few, if any, land speed racers could begin to compete there.  We are very fortunate that LSR is not like NASCAR.

I think we're in better shape than they are.

We're self-supporting.  In their present state, they're not.  We're old farts just trying to prove something to ourselves and our friends over the decades.  They've lost their base.  The manufacturers' wars are over.  The millenials (sp?) don't care.  NHRA has Pro Stockers running one manufacturer's body with another's engine.  NASCAR's painting the seats in the grandstands so as they as they pan by it looks like someone's sitting there.  Spec classes and innovation be damned.  Sure was sorta fun while it lasted.  Gone from racing to entertainment and not holding up there.

Of course I had to see a pic of the painted grandstands myself. Daytona. Pretty clever, really.
