Thinking about next year
« on: September 06, 2018, 12:42:40 AM »
on my way home, of course.

Coupla questions-

1) Is 750 P-PB a recognized classification?

2) Is fuel injection in place of carbs allowed in M-CG? M-CF? The engine rules for CG and CF are specific about using OEM heads, cylinders and crankcases but there does not seem to be any other restriction in the description aside from the overbore limit.

YES - 750 P-PB is a recognised class. I entered my Kawasaki GPZ 750 a few years ago as there was no existing record for it (still isn't). The GPZ is a factory turbo bike, kind of rare. I did not get the record as the bore was measured to be larger than factory bore. I disputed that it was, but still did not get the record.

As for replacing carbs with fuel injection, if the rules do not specifically say you can't, then you can.

Thanks Don, interesting to hear about the GPZ750. It appears that some other factory turbo bikes are just a bit over the displacement implied by their model number and they would get bumped up a class. Re the FI, that's what I would assume, just wanted to hear if anyone had ever been told no.
