How badly did Poteet break the little motor?  2400 horsepower out of 258 cubic inches has got to be stressing parts pretty bad.

Regarding Danny Thompson's 446+MPH run yesterday....

I know there have been a couple of faster runs at the Shootout/FIA-sanctioned meets, but has there ever been a faster run at Speedweek?

Hopefully, he'll be able to back it up with a similar record run this morning!

I think there is only Don Vesco in 2001 - 459 mph (not backed up).

Well then, it would appear that Danny does hold the bragging rights for fastest single run by a piston-engine car at Speedweek - at least for the time being.

But with Speed Demon switching to the "A" motor, it also appears that Mr. Poteet isn't ready to relinquish his stranglehold on the Hot Rod Trophy just yet.

Turbinator II may have a shot at that trophy, too.  In talking with Dave Spangler yesterday, it appeared they had some sort of fuel control problem.  Apparently, it would start, but then stop running.  Hopefully, they'll get that sorted out PDQ!

And, there may be others...

Good morning, kiddos.  It's already Sunday.  The parade to the line for record return runs is moving right along - down there but not ready to run yet.

Today portends to be a haul-ass day.  Danny Thompson is running on yesterday's 446, George has an A motor installed.  The Turbinator has fixed (they hoped) a fuel line issue. Strasburg's lakester went fast, the 325 Beamco went 300+ on its first run.

26 or 27 vehicles for return runs this morning.  As Ron puts it, nearly 2 pages of short course qualifiers and almost a full page of long course vehicles.

I’ve done a little audio work, and I’m fairly certain you have an issue with Ron’s mic.  Either it’s not completely plugged in or you have a short somewhere. We are picking up Ron‘s voice from Slim’s mic.
We could still hear you both just unbalanced audio.  No complaints here, love to be part of speed week from a distance.

My mike is off and I see the level meters showing Ron's mic is working.  More details?
